BetterQR vs QR TIGER: features and pricing compared

BetterQR is built for print and out-of-home campaigns: one dynamic code per poster, flyer or billboard, placements compared side by side, and codes that keep redirecting even if you cancel. Pro is £11/month for 15 dynamic codes, billed monthly. If you mainly want hundreds of dynamic codes at the lowest price per code, QR TIGER costs less.

What is the difference between BetterQR and QR TIGER?

QR TIGER is a general-purpose QR code generator with a wide range of code types, bulk generation, an API, an MCP server and integrations such as Canva, Zapier, HubSpot and Google Analytics. Its plans are priced aggressively, with hundreds of dynamic codes on the upper tiers.

BetterQR is built around one question: which poster, flyer or billboard worked? Each placement gets its own dynamic code, codes are grouped into campaigns, and placements are compared side by side. Every paid plan can be billed monthly, and your dynamic codes keep redirecting if you cancel.

How do the plans compare?

QR TIGER's prices are in US dollars and BetterQR's are in pounds, so we haven't converted them. QR TIGER also has separate business plans, which we haven't included.

QR TIGER details checked on 20 October 2026. Prices and limits change, so confirm on their site before you buy.

Is QR TIGER cheaper than BetterQR?

Yes, on price per code. QR TIGER Regular is US$7/month for 12 dynamic codes with unlimited scans. Advanced is US$16/month billed annually for 200 dynamic codes, and Premium is US$37/month billed annually for 600. BetterQR Pro is £11/month for 15 dynamic codes and 50,000 scans a month, Business is £99/month for 75, and Enterprise is £299/month for unlimited codes. Full BetterQR limits are on the pricing page.

For printed codes, the price per code leaves out two costs. QR TIGER's help centre says dynamic codes become invalid when a paid plan expires, so every poster and flyer depends on the next renewal. And only Regular is billed monthly; Advanced and Premium are charged a year up front.

BetterQR costs more per code. In return, your dynamic codes keep redirecting if you cancel, every plan can be paid monthly, and Business includes 3 team members where QR TIGER's pricing page lists 1 user per plan.

What do you get for free?

QR TIGER's free plan includes unlimited static codes and 3 dynamic codes, each limited to 500 scans, with basic scan analytics and a QR TIGER logo popup. That is a useful way to try dynamic codes, but 500 scans per code can run out quickly on a poster or flyer run.

BetterQR's free plan only makes static codes. They have no scan limit and no popup, because the URL is stored in the code itself and scans go straight to your page. The trade-off is that static codes can't be edited or tracked. Try the free generator, which needs no sign-up.

What happens to QR TIGER codes when a plan ends?

QR TIGER's help centre says that when a paid plan expires you can still log in, but you can't create new codes or edit existing dynamic codes or see their analytics, and “all dynamic QR codes will become invalid”. Static codes are not affected.

This is how most dynamic code providers work, because each scan goes through the provider's redirect. BetterQR works differently: if you cancel, your account reverts to the Free plan and your dynamic codes keep redirecting. What you lose is access to their scan analytics. Our guide to codes that don't expire explains the difference.

Which tracks print placements better?

BetterQR is built for this comparison. Each placement gets its own dynamic code, codes are grouped into campaigns, and placements are compared side by side by scans and time of day, with device and area on Business. You can add UTM parameters so visits show up in Google Analytics 4, download print-ready PDF and EPS files from Pro, and bulk upload one code per venue from a spreadsheet on Business. The billboard tracking guide walks through it.

QR TIGER lists a wider set of tracking extras, including Google Analytics integration, geolocation tracking, retargeting, scan notifications and geofencing. They are spread across its plans, so check which plan includes each one before you buy.

Can you ask an AI about your scans in BetterQR or QR TIGER?

In BetterQR, yes. Business and Enterprise include two AI features, both in beta. The in-app assistant answers plain-English questions such as “which poster got the most scans last week?” or “where are people scanning the bus shelter codes?”, draws the chart, and can draft new QR codes, campaigns or a CSV report for you to confirm.

The remote MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible assistants read your QR codes, campaigns and scan data, so you can ask about a campaign from the assistant you already use. It is read-only and connects through a sign-in you approve. While both features are in beta, access is on request.

QR TIGER has both as well: an AI chat called Sena and an MCP server that can create and edit codes. Both start on its Professional plan, at US$89/month billed annually, and other plans get a 7-day trial of the chat. On BetterQR they come with Business, which you can pay monthly.

When is BetterQR the better choice?

  • Your codes are going into print. Dynamic codes keep redirecting if you cancel, so a lapsed subscription can't break a poster that's already up.
  • You want to pay monthly on every plan. QR TIGER bills Advanced and Premium annually.
  • Two or three people need access. BetterQR Business includes 3 team members.
  • You need to know which placement worked. Reports are built around campaigns and placements, compared side by side.
  • You want AI on a monthly plan. BetterQR Business includes the assistant and MCP server in beta; QR TIGER puts them on Professional, billed annually.
  • You want free codes with no popup. BetterQR's free static codes have no scan limit and go straight to your page.

When is QR TIGER the better choice?

QR TIGER is the better choice if:

  • You need many dynamic codes cheaply. 200 codes on Advanced or 600 on Premium cost far less than comparable BetterQR plans.
  • You want unlimited scans from the entry paid plan up.
  • You want to try dynamic codes for free. The free plan includes 3, with 500 scans each.
  • You need many code types or integrations, such as Canva, Zapier, HubSpot, geofencing or password protection.
  • You generate codes in very large batches. Advanced and Premium list bulk generation of up to 3,000 codes per batch.

How do I move from QR TIGER to BetterQR?

Printed dynamic codes can't be moved between providers, because the short link inside them belongs to the original provider. Keep existing codes active while those prints are in use, and create BetterQR codes for new or reprinted placements. Check each one with the QR code tester before it goes to print.

How did we check these details?

We read QR TIGER's public pricing page and two help centre articles on 20 October 2026, and linked them under the table. We haven't tested QR TIGER's paid plans ourselves. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we'll correct it.
